8-Day Tour from Marrakech to the Desert

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait bin Haddou – Skoura – Dades Gorge

Departing from Marrakech in the direction of Ouarzazate, we will cross the impressive high mountains of Atas, pass Tizi-n-Tichka 2260m, visit the Glaoui kasbah in Telouet, then continue to the village of Ait Ben-Haddou to discover the famous Ait Ben-Haddou kasbah, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. We will then continue to Ouarzazate to discover the Atlas Explorations and the Taourirt Kasbah. After lunch we will head to Skoura where we will visit the Amridil kasbah. From there we will cross the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley to the Dades Gorges to admire the magnificent rock formations. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga. We cross the Todra Gorge and the Tafilalt Oasis. In Erfoud, we will visit the fossil museum and then head to the sand village of Merzouga. The guide will take you on a camel to a bivouac in the middle of the great dunes of Morocco. Enjoy the sunset over the dunes. Dinner and a Berber music show around the campfire. Sleep under the stars.

Day 3: Excursion to Merzouga

After breakfast at the bivouac, we will arrive by camel to the foot of the dunes, then set off to explore the desert landscape, visit nomads in their tents, learn about nomadic life, then return to the village of Khamlia, known for its Gnawa musicians, and experience the spiritual music of the Gnawa. You will enjoy a Berber meal. Then return to the camel back bivouac. You will ride a sandboard in the dunes and spend the second night listening to Berber music performed by locals. Have dinner around the bivouac fire. Enjoy the tranquility of the Sahara.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Ifrane – Fez

After a magnificent sunrise over the dunes, have breakfast and travel by camel to the foot of the dunes. From there we leave the Sahara in the direction of Fez. We will stop in Rissani to visit the mausoleum of Molei Ali Chrief Alaoui. Our journey will then take us to the Ziz valley. Lunch in Midelt. In the afternoon we cross the cedar forest of Azru. There is an opportunity to observe monkeys in the wild. Then we drive to the beautiful town of Ifrane, famous for its ski resort in Michlifen. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad in the medina of Fez.

Day 5: Fez – Chefchaouen

In the morning, after breakfast, we will spend half a day visiting the medina of Fez. Discover the main historical sites of the medina accompanied by a local guide. After lunch, head to Chefchaouen.

You will discover this amazing town in the Rif Mountains.

Day 6: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Rabat – Casablanca

Departure to Casablanca. We will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis and then continue to Meknes to visit the great gateway to the Medina. The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. From there we will continue to Rabat where we will visit the tower of Hassan and the kasbah of Oudaya before heading to Casablanca. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Casablanca to Marrakech.

After breakfast, visit the great mosque of Hassan II. Then transfer to Marrakech. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 8: Marrakech to Menara airport.

After breakfast, transfer to Menara airport.
