Desert Trip in Merzouga from Marrakech in 7-Day

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

You will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. 

Day 2: Marrakech – Ait bin Haddou – Skura – Dades Gorge

Departing from Marrakech in the direction of Ouarzazate, we will cross the impressive high mountains of Atas, pass Tizi-n-Tichka 2260m, visit the Glaoui kasbah in Telouet, then continue to the village of Ait Ben-Haddou to discover the famous Ait Ben-Haddou kasbah, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. We will then continue to Ouarzazate to discover the Atlas Explorations and the Taurirt Kasbah. After lunch, we will head to Skoura where we will visit the Amridil kasbah. From there we will cross the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley to the Dades Gorges to admire the magnificent rock formations. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga. We cross the Todra Gorge and the Tafilalt Oasis. In Erfoud, we will visit the fossil museum and then head to the sand village of Merzouga. The guide will take you on a camel to a bivouac in the middle of the great dunes of Morocco. Enjoy the sunset over the dunes. Dinner and a Berber music show around the campfire. Sleep under the stars.

Day 4: Excursion to Merzouga

After breakfast at the bivouac, we will arrive by camel at the foot of the dunes, then set off to explore the desert landscape, visit nomads in their tents, learn about nomadic life, then return to the village of Khamlia, known for its Gnahua musicians, and experience the spiritual music of the Gnawa. You will enjoy a Berber meal. Then return to the camelback bivouac. You will ride a sandboard in the dunes and spend the second night listening to Berber music performed by locals. Have dinner around the bivouac fire. Enjoy the tranquility of the Sahara.

Day 5: Merzouga – Erfoud – Touroug – Todra Gorge – Tinghir – Boumaln

We leave the desert and head to the gorges of Dades. We arrive at the foot of the dunes on the back of a dromedary and then travel to Erfoud to visit the fossils. From here our journey continues from Marrakech into the desert through the oases of Tourug and Tindad to reach the Todra Gorges, on the way we will stop to take some beautiful photographs in a palm grove, after visiting the Gorges and having lunch we will continue our adventure towards Boumalne, passing through the town of Tinghir. In Bumalne we stop to take some beautiful pictures of the Dades valley. We will then continue our journey towards Dades Gorges where we will stay overnight in a hotel with dinner.

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Kelaa Mgouna – Oasis of Skoura – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast at the hotel, our journey will continue through the desert back to Marrakech. We follow the Dades Valley to Kelaa Mgouna. A visit to a cooperative producing cosmetic products. From there we will drive to the oasis of Skoura to visit the kasbah of Amridil. From there we will continue to Ouarzazate. We will then cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad in the heart of the medina.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast transfer to Marrakech airport.
